Tara Porter, a true Maritimer and Canadian, was brought up in a community of artists and musicians. ” My father was an artist, my sisters are artists and musicians, and most of my friends and teachers have the most incredible and awe-inspiring talents…I've been blessed to have had so much inspiration and direction while I develop my own sense of expression…” She was first introduced to yoga at the young age of 13. Growing up in a family that pursued and supported various paths of holistic and natural ways of living and healing, a seed was planted as she started her journey. Tara is a trained vocalist, having just completed her first practical RCM exam, dancer, performer and yogini, and has been attending and leading Kirtans around Ottawa and Montreal for over a year. " I can remember my first Kirtan experience vividly and how it made me feel - after that I knew I was meant to practise this form of yoga..." The next direction of her journey will take place in the upcoming months, as she is taking her Yoga Teacher training certification at the Sivananda Ashram in Val Morin, Quebec; and Danskinetics teacher Training at Kripalu in Massachusetts.
" We must be the change we wish to see in the world."
